The Old Lifeboat House in Coverack, Cornwall
Set in the quintessential Cornish fishing harbour of Coverack on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall we are a rejuvenated, historical old lifeboat station as close as can be to the water’s edge.
At the front of the building, we have a fish and chips take away serving a range of quality fresh cooked menu items to enjoy whilst sitting at our outdoor tables or upon the sun trapped harbour walls.
To the rear of the building, we have a bright and airy bar and restaurant with seating for 30 customers and a breath-taking view over the lifeboat slipway across the bay towards the Manacles and beyond.
We have invested heavily into updating the old lifeboat station not only to create a great destination to dine in but also an enjoyable, well-equipped place to work. The last couple of years we had to adapt our take away options and the restaurant has remained closed. As things get back to normal, we are keen to reopen our restaurant and reward our staff with not only a great remuneration package but also a realistic work/life balance.
It’s one of the UK’s favourite dishes and it always tastes better with a big portion of sea air.
Seaside fish and chip shops are a national treasure. We’re listed in the top 20 to visit this summer 2022. Read the full report by Sarah Turner with a forward by Jay Rayner.
