The Old Lifeboat House in Coverack, Cornwall
Set in the quintessential Cornish fishing harbour of Coverack on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall we are a rejuvenated, historical old lifeboat station as close as can be to the water’s edge.
At the front of the building, we have a fish and chips take away serving a range of quality fresh cooked menu items to enjoy whilst sitting at our outdoor tables or upon the sun trapped harbour walls.
To the rear of the building, we have a bright and airy bar and restaurant with seating for 30 customers and a breath-taking view over the lifeboat slipway across the bay towards the Manacles and beyond.
As we are a small independent business we do not have the luxury of staff managing our emails or messenger. The best way to book in our restaurant is by phone. We can then run through any dietary requirements your party may have.
Please note we don’t do take out pre-orders.

10/10 Sunday roast in quirky building with amazing views and super friendly, welcoming staff
“Absolutely amazing Sunday roast. We were quickly shown to a lovely table right in the window with plenty of space. The staff were so so friendly. Couldn’t have done more for us. The food was brilliant, we both had a roast and the portions were huge. The flavours were perfect too. We’ll definitely be back, we tried to go initially to the pub across the road, they laughed at us when we asked for a table around 2pm – so glad they couldn’t fit us in as this place far surpassed our expectations.”
One of our favourite places
“Fabulously chunky cod and chips! A great little bar and family-friendly restaurant about as close to the sea as you can get.”
Lunch with four friends
“We found this very welcoming restaurant which occupies the old lifeboat station while walking the coast path and after looking at the menu decided to pop in
The seafood chowder and gammon egg and chips with seared fresh pineapple for me topped the bill but the ladies really enjoyed the cod and chips followed by some excellent desserts
The meal was accompanied by a good selection of ciders and beers
The outside seating overlooking the harbour only serves takeaway fish and chips with the restaurant enjoying the sea view from the boat house
We will definitely return”
Lovely place to eat with a gorgeous view
“Stopping in Coverack so naturally this was a place on our list to eat at. We weren’t let down, excellent fresh food with fabulous staff even the chef came out to apologise about the delay but weren’t bothered lovely views over the harbour spotting dolphins, great place, will visit again.“
