The Old Lifeboat House in Coverack, Cornwall

Set in the quintessential Cornish fishing harbour of Coverack on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall we are a rejuvenated, historical old lifeboat station as close as can be to the water’s edge.

At the front of the building, we have a fish and chips take away serving a range of quality fresh cooked menu items to enjoy whilst sitting at our outdoor tables or upon the sun trapped harbour walls.

To the rear of the building, we have a bright and airy bar and restaurant with seating for 30 customers and a breath-taking view over the lifeboat slipway across the bay towards the Manacles and beyond.

As we are a small independent business we do not have the luxury of staff managing our emails or messenger. The best way to book in our restaurant is by phone. We can then run through any dietary requirements your party may have.

Please note we don’t do take out pre-orders.

Fish & Chip Find

“Went there for an evening meal with family, the food was first class and our server Kelly was very friendly. The fish and chips were delicious, the chef was very apologetic due to the wait ,as he had a large takeaway order, which was appreciated. Well worth a visit if in the area”

Great Sunday roast and super staff

This was one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve ever had. We were so impressed with the Old Lifeboat House for many reasons. Not only was the food excellent, but all the staff were so incredibly lovely, it made the meal even better. The food was very reasonably priced and the view was perfect. We’ll definitely be going back.”

Delightful Impromptu Lunch Stop

“Walking the Lizard coast on a rare sunny winter’s day we abandoned our cheese rolls and decided to stop for fish and chips. These days my body reacts to gluten and I was delighted to find that they had this covered. We had a lovely friendly reception, given great quality food, GF batter prepared on the spot, beautifully crispy and light, chips perfect, tartare sauce homemade and superbly balanced.”
